ggm pvt school principal held over fake CBSE affiliation row
Gurugram, April 20 -- The principal of a private school in Sector 9B, Gurugram, was arrested on Saturday for allegedly operating without full CBSE affiliation and cheating at least 11 Class 10 students who could not appear for board exams, police said.
The absconding principal, a Basai village resident, was arrested from Ahmedabad. The school's chairman was arrested earlier, officials said.
Sandeep Turan, Gurugram Police spokesperson, said, "The principal was produced before the court today and has been sent to judicial custody."
The school did not respond to HT's requests for a comment.
Police said the chairman confessed to minting money by misleading students about CBSE affiliation. An FIR was registered on February 18. Police said forged documents displayed a fake affiliation number.
Following the incident, parents approached the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
