Ggm cops raze illegal property of gangster
Gurugram, Dec. 23 -- The Gurugram police demolished the illegally constructed property of alleged gangster Narender Rathi alias Sonu on a 1,000 square yard agricultural plot in Bhondsi on Monday. The fortified structure had a 10-foot-high peripheral wall with barbed wires, officials said.
The action followed orders from Haryana director general of police OP Singh to demolish illegal properties of top history-sheeters.
Rathi, 39, has 19 criminal cases including murder, extortion, and kidnapping. He recently came out of jail in a kidnapping and extortion case.
Police said the construction was made years ago without a Change of Land Use (CLU) certificate from the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) and used proceeds of crime. No villagers had complained due to fear.
Sandeep Turan, public relations officer of Gurugram police, said Rathi and his associates had shot dead a rival, Ashok Rathi, after barging into his house in Alipur village of Bhondsi on November 16, 2019. "After the murder, he began committing organised crime and was operating his gang. Presently, he is on bail and his gang has been dismantled," Turan said.
Officials stated Rathi was attempting to revive his dismantled gang by meeting suspects at this illegal house. The demolition was completed in four hours....
