Gurugram, May 15 -- A 17-year-old boy allegedly died by suicide in a township in Gurugram's Sector 72 on Wednesday. He was upset over his Class 12 results in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations, according to investigators familiar with the case. Investigators said the teenager studied at a private school in Sector 49 and had scored 75% in the boards. Sandeep Kumar, public relations officer of the Gurugram police, said immediately after getting his results, the boy was "immensely worried and tense" since he had expected to score much higher marks. "He had even confided this to his family that he had expected more marks as per his calculation," the police official said, adding that the boy remained disturbed throughout the night. Investigators said that no suicide note has been recovered yet and the teenager's mobile phone will be sent for forensic analysis for further clues. They said that the deceased's father is a chartered accountant working with a private firm in Noida and the mother is a housewife while his elder brother lives in the United States. According to the police, the deceased's father had left for his office but rushed back after being alerted about the incident while his brother will arrive in Indiaon Thursday after which the autopsy will be conducted.
