Festival spotlights reform led by people
Gurugram, Dec. 22 -- Turning a stretch of the Dwarka Expressway into a "civic commons, Sadak-Utsav" on Sunday showcased how citizen participation and governance reforms can reshape urban life in Gurugram.
Held in Sector 106, the half-day event had nearly 4,000 visitors, organisers said.
Organised by DXPGDA and Mission 7374 Foundation, the event featured three performance stages. More than 40 RWA presidents were felicitated, and over 10 social media influencers amplified the message online. Sadak-Utsav convener Sunny Singh Daultabad said, "Sadak-Utsav is not just an event. It is a reminder that Gurugram can become a more humane and liveable city when reforms and public participation move together."
The main stage featured zumba and cultural programmes, while an Artist Chowk attracted young residents, officials said.
The festival also emphasised civic education and practical urban solutions. Activities included a walkathon, skating, yoga, and a drawing competition. The Civic Awareness Zone hosted demonstrations on composting, rainwater harvesting and waste segregation. A mental health camp offered counselling support, while Gurugram police organised an awareness programme on traffic safety.
A major attraction was the 45-foot-long Reimagining Gurugram Tunnel, an immersive installation explaining urban reform concepts like Area Sabhas and Ward Committees. Gurugram police participated with a traffic safety awareness programme....
