Faridabad, June 11 -- Five men were booked for injuring a 25-year-old man by attacking him with an axe after a dispute over car parking outside a market complex at NIT-5 in Faridabad, police said on Tuesday. The incident took place between 7pm and 7.15pm on Monday when the victim, Manish Kumar, a Sector 21 resident, reached the market with his children and wife to purchase household items, said police. Investigators said that Kumar was trying to park his car roadside when a suspect reached there in a car and asked him not to park on his spot. Kumar alleged that the suspect hurled abuses on which he raised an objection. "He brought out an axe from his car and finally hit me in the head with the blunt side of the axe," said Kumar, adding that his family alerted the police. The victim alleged that the suspect soon rang someone following which at least four more assailants reached the spot in another car and assaulted him with rods and bricks. The victim sustained multiple injuries in the head and limbs and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital, said Faridabad police public relations officer Yashpal Yadav. "The victim was able to record a short video of the incident before suspects broke his phone which he had provided to police. The identities of all the suspects have been ascertained and they will be arrested soon," Yadav said.
