Exec director of PSU falls to death at Noida high-rise
NOIDA, Jan. 4 -- An executive director with a major public-sector undertaking (PSU) fell to his death from the 17th floor of an upscale high-rise residential society in Noida's Sector 104 on Saturday morning, in a reported case of suicide, according to police. A note was also recovered from the spot, they said.
The deceased worked at the PSU's Delhi office and was also on the board of multiple subsidiaries of the company, besides serving as the chair for a joint venture company.
He came to Delhi-NCR from Kanpur and lived with his wife in the Noida society, police said, adding that their son works in Mumbai.
Police said the incident took place at 10.20am on the day. The man spoke briefly to his wife and was speaking on the phone, when he allegedly went towards the balcony and fell, police said. Residents of the society rushed him to a private hospital in Sector 110, where doctors declared him dead on arrival, they said.
Additional deputy commissioner of police (ADCP) Noida, Shavya Goel, said a suicide note was recovered during the investigation. "The deceased died by suicide. A suicide note has been recovered in which he has stated that no one is responsible for his death. He has mentioned that he is not blaming anyone and that he is ending his life," Goel said.
Police said a post-mortem examination was conducted. CCTV footage from the society and surrounding areas is being examined to reconstruct the sequence of events, police said....
