Dehradun, Nov. 20 -- The son of Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former MLA Kunwar Pranav Singh 'Champion', Divye Pratap, who was booked for allegedly assaulting R Yashovardhan, the son of former chief secretary S Ramaswamy, in a road rage incident on November 14, is yet to appear before the police. The police said he is busy with his shooting training in Delhi. "We have served a notice to the accused to appear before the police by November 20. He is said to be in Delhi for his training. He may appear before the police on Thursday," said Pradeep Rawat, in charge at Rajpur police station. An FIR against the accused was registered on Saturday under sections 115 (2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (4) ( Mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees), and 351 (3) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Rajpur police station. On Monday, the Dehradun Police said it has added section 30 (Punishment for contravention of licence or rule) of the Arms Act to the FIR against accused Divye Pratap. The police also added sections 126 (Wrongful restraint) and 352 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in the FIR registered at Rajpur police station on November 15.Meanwhile, the Dehradun police has written to the Haridwar district magistrate for the cancellation of the ex-legislator's son's arms license. In his complaint, R Yashovardhan stated that while travelling from Dilaram to Sai Mandir on November 14 evening, a vehicle allegedly began following and trying to overtake his car. According to the complaint, the Mussoorie diversion, a white Land Cruiser (UK 07 DN 0001) and a supporting Bolero intercepted his car. The occupants, including a tall man in a red sweatshirt carrying sticks,allegedly assaulted him along with a Uttarakhand Police constable. He alleged that he was dragged out, beaten with kicks and sticks, and his phone was snatched. The man in the red sweatshirt also pressed a pistol against his driver's ribs and issued threats, he alleged. Senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh said, "Our investigation revealed the car occupants as Divye Pratap Singh and Constable Rajesh Singh, posted in Haridwar district. We sent a letter to Haridwar police for disciplinary action against the police constable. Acting on this, the constable was suspended, and the Bolero vehicle used in the incident, having registration number UK 17 U 0006, was seized by the police." "Based on the examination of CCTV footage and evidence obtained during the primary investigation, sections 30 of the Arms Act and 126, and 352 of the BNS have been added to FIR. Additionally, a report has been sent to the District Magistrate, Haridwar, for the cancellation of Divye Pratap Singh's arms license," the senior superintedent said....
