Gurugram, May 7 -- The district education department has launched a crackdown on unrecognised schools run by NGOs in sectors like 46, Choma, Nathupur, and DLF Phase 1, where over 1,000 students from Class 1 to 5 were taught in violation of government norms. Despite directives for closure, many NGOs continued operating informal schools. The department is transferring affected students to government schools. District Education Officer Indu Bokan confirmed the upload of 399 students' data to the state MIS portal. "Schools running without a no-objection certificate (NOC) are being shut down," Bokan said. Officials warned parents to verify a school's recognition status, stressing that degrees from unrecognised institutions would be invalid. Legal actions, including FIRs and fines, will follow if these schools resume operations.
