DTCP demolishesfour illegal colonies
Gurugram, July 9 -- The enforcement wing of the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) on Tuesday demolished four unauthorised colonies being developed illegally over 7 acres in Farrukhnagar. Officials said the colonies lacked approvals from competent authorities and were being built in violation of planning norms.
"The enforcement team demolished 20 plinths, four structures, and two boundary walls. We urge people not to invest in such illegal colonies-they will be razed," said Amit Madholia, district town planner (enforcement).
Madholia also warned that the department will soon take action against private group housing societies where Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) have allowed unauthorised constructions. "RWAs have no legal right to change layout plans or permit construction within licensed colonies. If violations continue, we will recommend appointing administrators," he added. No FIRs were recommended on Tuesday, but DTCP officials warned that criminal proceedings will be initiated if violations recur.
In a separate action, the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) enforcement team demolished three illegal permanent shops constructed on Sector 18 Road, said Ajmer Singh, sub-divisional engineer, HSVP....
