New Delhi, May 27 -- Delhi Public School (DPS), Dwarka, has challenged the Directorate of Education's (DoE) directive to reinstate over 30 students expelled for non-payment of increased fees in Delhi high court. The matter was listed before Justice Vikas Mahajan on Monday but adjourned to Wednesday. On May 9, DPS struck off 32 students' names and deployed bouncers on May 13 to prevent their entry. Parents protested, refusing to pay the hike, citing lack of DoE approval. The DoE termed the school's action a violation of court orders and directed reinstatement on May 15. DoE counsel Sameer Vashisth said multiple writ petitions are pending, with two benches reserving orders on related pleas. The school argued the DoE order violates the Delhi School Education Act, 1973, which allows removal over non-payment. The petition called the DoE order "ex facie arbitrary", done "without providing any opportunity of being heard", and based on "unilateral findings of the committee".shruti kakkar...
