dfs chief garg transferred out; now chief of fire safety academy
New Delhi, July 15 -- Delhi Fire Services (DFS) chief Atul Garg was on Monday transferred out of the fire department and posted as the director of the Fire Safety Management Academy (FSMA) with immediate effect, according to an order issued by Delhi lieutenant governor VK Saxena.
The transfer comes three-and-a-half months before Garg's scheduled retirement. The order states that Garg will now report to the principal director (DFS) for all official purposes. While the order does not name Garg's immediate successor, officials in the department said that chief fire officer (CFO) Virender Singh is expected to take over the responsibilities of the DFS director until a permanent replacement is appointed by the competent authority.htc...
