AGRA, Aug. 8 -- In a case of cruelty to a child and abandonment, a 14-year-old girl from Jalesar town in Etah district has filed a complaint against her parents for denying her the opportunity to study further in Class 10. Subsequently, a case was registered as the Child Welfare Committee in Etah took up the matter with the police. As the parents abandoned the girl, she has now been sent to the Child Welfare Centre in Noida, according to the police. Meanwhile, the parents continue to evade questions posed by the Etah police regarding their alleged mistreatment of their daughter. "We made several attempts to speak with the parents of the abandoned girl, but they consistently avoided interaction. Since the case was registered against them on Tuesday night, the parents have not been residing in Jalesar town and are believed to have moved to Faridabad in Haryana to avoid action," Sudhir Kumar Singh, the officer in-charge of Jalesar police station, said on Thursday.
