Dehradun, May 31 -- The Dehradun police have arrested two individuals allegedly involved in separate drug trafficking incidents, with one of them operating under the guise of scrap and waste collection. Police seized over two kg of illicit drugs and two motorcycles used in the operation, officials familiar with the matter said. Ajai Singh, SSP Dehradun on Friday said, acting on a tip-off during routine checks on Thursday evening, Premnagar police arrested one person near the Vidholi gate outpost. "Accused was found transporting 1.65 kg of illegal cannabis. The accused has been identified as Reenu Nath, aged 30, resident of Sapera Basti in Sahaspur, Dehradun," he said. He said in another case, Rishikesh Police arrested one person with 678 grams of illicit drugs near the Khandgaon Tiraaha area during a routine check. "The motorcycle used in the smuggling was also seized. The accused has been identified as Sachin Rangad (37), resident of Shyampur, Rishikesh", he said.
