Couple killed as car rams into their vehicle
Gurugram, March 30 -- A 35-year-old man and his 34-year-old wife were killed and two others were injured in a collision between two vehicles on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Nuh on Saturday, police said on Sunday.
Police said Deependra, a resident of Kamalpur Mahua, was travelling to Delhi with his wife Asha and one other relative from Rajasthan's Dausa in an Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
According to officers, Deependra had pulled over his car on the roadside to fix a punctured tyre. His wife was waiting outside the vehicle while the other relative, their uncle, had stepped out of the vehicle. During this time, a Hyundai i10 approaching from behind rammed their vehicle, leaving it mangled.
"The impact was severe and the couple died on the spot. There were two passengers in the i10 and they sustained injuries. All of them were rushed to the nearby Mandikhera hospital by Deependra's relative and locals. The injured were later shifted to a Delhi hospital," said Shubhash Chand, station house officer (Ferozepur Jhirka).
Officers said the accident was reported by a commuter and that the bodies were sent for autopsy with the i10 seized.
The couple is survived by four young children - three daughters and a son. Police said further action will be taken based on the probe's findings....
