CJI to visit Bhondsi jail training centre on Dec 6
Gurugram, Dec. 2 -- Ahead of Chief Justice of India Surya Kant's visit to Bhondsi Jail on December 6, officials said preparations are underway for the inauguration of the newly constructed industrial training institute.
The ITI which is intended to expand technical education and skill development opportunities for inmates and strengthen their rehabilitation and post release employment prospects, officials added.
Inspector general (prisons) B. Satish Balan and a team of judicial officers inspected the venue on Monday, reviewing infrastructure, training capacity and associated facilities. Jail superintendent Vivek Chaudhary said "the CJI will first tour the Skill Development Centre and Nirman Sadan before addressing officials and inmates at the RTC, Bhondsi."
The ITI will offer one year trades including Computer Operator and Programming Assistant, Welder, Electrician, Plumbing and Wood Work Technician, with capacity for 100 inmates per batch.
Additional district judge Amit Grover said structured training would equip inmates with employable skills and aid reintegration, aligning with the judiciary's reform focused vision....
