Build smart classes in govt schools: Delhi CM
New Delhi, July 3 -- Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday chaired a high-level review meeting with education department officials, directing them to urgently upgrade government schools with smart classrooms, modern science labs, and faster teacher recruitment.
Gupta stressed the need for quality education and asked officials to prepare a comprehensive strategy, including a review of all vacant teaching posts, the CM's office said in a press release.
"Every child in Delhi, regardless of background, should receive equal opportunity and world-class education," the press release stated.The CM instructed the department to immediately identify school buildings in poor condition. "Repairs and renovations must be undertaken on a priority and emergency basis," she said, according to the release. Gupta also pushed for structural upgrades to the entry gates of Thyagaraj and Chhatrasal stadiums.
Calling for a modern approach to learning, she directed all government schools to be equipped with functional science laboratories. "Students should receive hands-on, experiment-based learning. This will help develop a scientific temperament," Gupta said....
