BJP unhappy with MLA reply on graft
Jaipur, Dec. 22 -- The leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are not happy with the response by Khinvsar MLA Rewant Ram Danga in the alleged corruption in the LAD fund, said the party's state president Madan Rathore.
Addressing the media on Sunday, Rathore said, "We issued a notice to him after we came to know about the incident. We have received his response but it was not satisfactory. We have now transferred the matter to our disciplinary committee for further action.
He said, "In BJP, we maintain a system. We have zero tolerance for corruption. If such a case comes to the fore, we conduct a thorough probe into them."
The development came after a news report was published in a local media on December 15 in which their representative conducted a sting operation separately on three MLAs last month.
They claimed paying a Rs.50 lakh bribe to BJP MLA from Nagaur's Khinvsar Rewant Ram Danga, Rs.50,000 to Congress MLA from Karauli's Hindaun (SC) Anita Jatav through her husband, and a bribery deal of Rs.40 lakh was also made with independent MLA from Bharatpur's Bayana, Ritu Banwat, in exchange of some funds from the LAD to supply carpets to the schools in their concerned areas.
Later, the publishing house also uploaded videos recorded by their reporter during the sting, on their digital portal. However, HT could not verify the veracity of those videos.
Following the development, chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Sunday formed a panel led by chief secretary and director general of police to probe the three MLAs. The ethics committee of the Rajasthan Assembly also questioned the three MLAs on Friday....
