India, May 30 -- After 10 new Covid-19 cases were reported in Gurugram over 15 days, the district health department has ramped up precautionary measures to contain the spread of the respiratory disease. A dedicated isolation ward, with 30 beds, has been established at the district hospital, while more isolation wards have been set up at all subdivisional and community health centres (CHCs) across the district, health department officials said. Gurugram deputy chief medical officer Dr JP Rajliwal said, "Gurugram has tackled previous Covid-19 waves with resilience, and we are prepared this time too. The situation is under control, and public cooperation is key to prevent any escalation." Officials said that patients were exhibiting mild to moderate symptoms and were being provided with appropriate medical care. Contact tracing has also been initiated for all cases, and testing and screening drives have been intensified across localities to identify and isolate new patients. they said.
