Gurugram, April 15 -- Five of the six suspects arrested for allegedly attempting to incite violence during a wage hike protest in IMT Manesar, Gurugram, were unemployed and had planned to collect commissions from workers after a pay hike, police said on Tuesday.
Crime branch officials said the five were linked to a workers' union and had created three WhatsApp groups to provoke violence. A senior police officer said, "They had planned to take commission from the workers after the wage hike." The sixth accused was employed at a factory and provided internal information. Assistant commissioner of police (Manesar) Virender Saini said, "They were only coordinating from the backgrounds via WhatsApp." Meanwhile, ACP (crime-II) Mukesh Kumar said incriminating chats were recovered: "These are strong evidence against them."
