MEERUT, June 16 -- A 60-year-old man was found dead inside his residence in Hariana village, under Kundarki police station area of Moradabad district on Saturday night, police said on Sunday. The man has been identified as Gulab Singh Saini. According to the police investigation, some assailants broke into his home and slit his throat, inflicting multiple injuries to his chest, legs, and even his private parts with a sharp-edged weapon. According to police, initial investigations indicate that the crime was driven by deep personal enmity. Preliminary investigations and local accounts suggest that the murder may have been motivated by long-standing rivalries linked to Gulab Singh's involvement in esoteric practices. He was reportedly at the center of several disputes arising from these activities. Family members have identified four individuals from the same village as suspects in the case. Following the incident, police along with a forensic team arrived at the crime scene. Blood-stained floors and scattered belongings inside the house suggested that the victim had made desperate attempts to resist his attackers. The body has been sent for post-mortem, and a case of murder has been registered against the four accused. "A case has been registered based on the family's complaint. We are investigating all possible angles. Raids are being conducted to apprehend the named suspects," said superintendent of police (Rural) Akash Singh. Additional police personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order in the village. htc...
