Kota, Oct. 1 -- A 221-foot effigy of Ravana is set to be the central attraction of the 132nd edition of the National Dussehra Fair in Kota district. The effigy is likely the tallest ever built in the world as of yet, making it a likely contender for a world record. The structure - built over four months at a cost of around Rs.44 lakh and weighing nearly 13,000 kilograms, is supported in place by 220-tonne and 100-tonne hydraulic cranes and takes almost five to six hours to erect completely , according to artisan Tejendra Chauhan, who added that the structure's 25-foot fiberglass face alone weighs three quintals. Experts from various cataloguers of world records have visited the site from Delhi to inspect the structure, said fair committee chairman Vivek Rajvanshi.
