India, June 12 -- A 22-year-old man died after the car he was driving rear-ended a slow-moving tractor on the Sohna elevated road near the Ghamroj toll plaza, police said on Wednesday. Police identified the deceased as Abhishek Khatana, the son of a lady police officer posted at the Sector 40 police station in the city. They said the accident took place at about 12.30pm on June 2, following which Khatana was being treated at a private hospital in Sector 38. He succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday night. Gurugram police, public relations officer, Sandeep Kumar said that five workers travelling in the truck were also injured. "Khatana was driving a Hyundai Creta on the elevated section of the Sohna Road to reach his village Abhaypur in Bhondsi. A slow-moving tractor was in the middle of the road which led to the accident," he said. The officer said that the car was mangled beyond recognition and Khatana was critically injured. He was taken to a nearby hospital by commuters and the police were informed. "An FIR was initially registered under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Bhondsi police station on June 2," Kumar said.
