Gurugram, July 15 -- A 22-year-old man died and his friend was critically injured after a speeding vehicle hit their motorcycle on the Farrukhnagar-Jhajjar road, police said on Monday. They identified the deceased as Nitin Kumar and the injured man as Deepak Kumar, 23. Both the men are originally from Raiyya village in Jhajjar. Police said the duo had reached Farrukhnagar for some work and were returning on a motorcycle when the accident took place between 9.30am and 9.40am on Sunday. Gurugram police public relations officer, Sandeep Kumar, said that the duo was hit by a speeding unidentified vehicle. "They were critically injured and had sustained severe head injuries as none of them were wearing a helmet. Commuters later alerted the police control room about two injured men lying on the road following which an emergency response vehicle took them to the Farrukhnagar community health centre," he said. The officer said that doctors declared Nitin dead on arrival and referred Deepak to PGIMS Rohtak for initial treatment. "There were tyre marks at the spot but nobody had seen the accident taking place. Additionally, there was no CCTV camera on the stretch due to which it was not clear which vehicle had hit them," he said. Based on a complaint by Nitin's father Surender Ram, an FIR was registered against an unidentified vehicle driver under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at Farrukhnagar police station on Sunday night....
