Gurugram, July 21 -- A 20-year-old man allegedly killed his 65-year-old mother with an axe after she refused to give him Rs.20 in Jai Singhpur village near Dengli Road, Nuh, around 1am on Sunday, police said. The accused, identified as Jamshed Khan, has been arrested, police added. According to police, Jamshed-believed to be a habitual drug user-demanded money from his mother, Razia, reportedly after learning she had received her old-age pension. When she said she had only a Rs.500 note and would give him money in the morning, he allegedly became enraged. Police said Jamshed attempted to steal the money while Razia was asleep. When she resisted, he struck her with a brick. Hearing her cries, his sister-in-law tried to intervene but was also attacked. She fled to alert villagers. By the time help arrived, Jamshed had allegedly killed Razia with an axe and lay down beside her body. Police recovered the weapon from the scene. "A case of murder has been registered," said an officer. Razia's body was sent for an autopsy....
