Gurugram, July 24 -- Two women working at a construction site in Bhora Kalan village in Bilaspur died after coming in contact with a live high-tension power line on Thursday evening.

Police identified the dead as Sandhya Devi (24) and Sandhya Rani (34), natives of Madhya Pradesh who lived with their husbands in the same village since the last four years.

Police said that around 5pm Thursday, Devi came in contact with the line that passed over the house they were working on, and when Rani tried to rescue her, she too got electrocuted.

Police said officials from the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) were called in to kill power to the line and the victims were taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared them brought dead.
