'Delhi BMW crash accused took victim to hosp she's tied to'
NEW DELHI, Sept. 17 -- Gaganpreet Makkad, who was driving the BMW that killed 52-year-old Navjot Singh, has close ties with the hospital where she took the victims, with her father listed as a director in two companies registered at the same address as the facility, according to the Union ministry of corporate affairs (MCA) database and police.
Police identified Makkad's father, Javinder Singh, as director and promoter of Nulife Advanced Diagnostics Private Limited and Nulife Luxury Realtors Private Limited, both sharing the registered address of HK Nulife Hospitals Private Limited. Kumar, who founded the hospital in 1992, died during the Covid pandemic, after which his children took over.

In her statement, Kaur said, "I was repeatedly requesting that lady to take us to a nearby hospital so that we could get first aid quickly, because my husband was unconscious." But despite my repeated requests, she didn't take us to the nearest hospital."
Makkad told investigators she trusted Nulife, as "they had saved her children during the pandemic", and denied links to the hospital. However, her husband, Parikshit Makkad, told police he called Javinder Singh after the crash, informing him she was heading there.
Navjot's autopsy was conducted Tuesday, and his cremation was held the same day-his son Navnoor's birthday. Makkad has been booked under sections 281 (rash driving), 125B (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 105 (obstruction of evidence), and 238 (endangering lives) of the BNS....
