India, July 6 -- Lewis Hamilton says he just wants to enjoy the success of F1: The Movie, without rushing into a new project.
According to the Formula One racer and seven-time world champion, planning a sequel too soon was "the worst thing we probably could do".
"We literally just finished it, so I think the last thing we want right now is a sequel," Lewis said on Thursday, ahead of the British Grand Prix.
The Ferrari driver, who was also one of the film's producers, added, "It's been four years in the making. It was a lot of work, particularly for Joseph (Kosinski, director). It's time away from your family, your kids. You need this to just simmer for a while and enjoy it."
The 40-year-old also noted, "Most sequels are way worse, and so we don't need to rush it. I think if we do do a sequel, I would say. 'Let's really, really take our time in getting it even better'." Lewis also shared that he was bringing race track procedures to the movie business, having asked for a "debrief" on the project: "Let's review what we did, what we could have done better. I don't know if they ever do that in the movie business, but it's something I've learned from racing."
