Tusshar joins Prakash Jha's new political thriller
India, Sept. 3 -- Actor Tusshar Kapoor is stepping into new territory with Janadesh, a political thriller directed by Prakash Jha. The actor, who was recently seen in Kapkapiii, will play a pivotal role in the ensemble film.
Revealing how the project landed in his lap, the 48-year-old shares, "Prakash ji called me and said that he has a character for me in this film. It was out of the blue."
Best known for his comic outings in film series such as Golmaal and Kyaa Kool Hain Hum, Tusshar calls this project a welcome change. He elaborates, "It wasn't a conscious decision to do a film like this and break any image. I was wanting to do a political thriller, especially with someone like Prakash ji who excels in the genre. I admire him a lot and feel fortunate to have an opportunity to explore this genre."
The actor has already begun prep for the role. "Prakash ji and I have been meeting for mini workshops to understand the character and how he sees me and what he wants me to do with it," he shares.
When probed further about the details, Tusshar hints at what's to come, saying, "It is a fictional character and not based on a real-life person, but definitely inspired by real people and true incidents. It will feel very real to life for sure. I am prepping to make it look more believable."...
