The Sound of Music turns 60 in the city

hat film could make generations hum its songs decades after its release? For many, it's the 1965 American musical drama The Sound of Music. On Wednesday evening in the Capital, the Austrian Embassy marked the film's 60th anniversary, honouring its roots in Salzburg and the Austrian Alps, where much of it was shot.
The celebrations opened with Mozart Choir of India performing favourites such as My Favourite Things, Do-Re-Mi and Edelweiss, their harmonies filling the hall with nostalgia.
"It is our own history that is part of the film, and I have watched it so many times, yet it still feels so special," said Austrian Ambassador to India Katharina Wieser, emphasising the enduring bond between Austria and the beloved musical....
