The song became a hit, not me: Ve Haaniyaan singer Danny

inger Danny, born Divyam Sharma, has seen his breakout track Ve Haaniyaan cross 300 million views on YouTube and inspire over 2.4 million Instagram reels. Yet the 29-year-old believes the spotlight has favoured the song more than the singer.
"I got recognition, but perhaps not in the way a singer typically would," he says, referring to actor-producers Ravie Dubey and Sargun Mehta, who featured in the track and drew much of the limelight. He adds, "I can't complain. It opened doors for my independent music. There's a difference between a song becoming a hit and an artist becoming a hit. In my case, the song worked. My time is yet to come."
To bridge that gap, Danny has begun appearing in his own music videos. After a cameo in Chahvan Sohneya, his next two tracks will feature him as the face. "Ultimately, I want to make music that reaches people and heals their hearts. Whether I feature in it should depend on the song," he says.
His recent releases include Dariya, Mahiya Ranjhans, Haale Dil, Fanaa Kar De and Tehzeeb. Originally from Muzaffarnagar and now based in Mohali, Danny says Ve Haaniyaan, written by Sagar and composed by Avvy Sara, gained traction after clips went viral online before being officially released. He now has a romantic track lined up for the Punjabi film Surbalaji and harbours Bollywood ambitions, promising fans "a happy surprise" soon....
