India, July 22 -- The scent of mehendi, bright green sarees, and folk music set the mood at the 16th Hariyali Teej Utsav in the Capital on Saturday. Bringing together a mix of cultural performances, devotional music and a gathering of guests from political, cultural and diplomatic circles, the evening was high on tradition and festive fervour.
From energetic dandiya and gidda to soulful bhajans paying tribute to Radha-Krishna and Shiv-Parvati, performers such as Prem Bhatia and his team blended rhythm, colour and tradition.
Speaking at the do, Dr Vijay Jolly, President of Delhi Study Group, said, "Hariyali Teej is more than just a festival - it is a celebration of our roots, our families and the powerful role of women in preserving Indian traditions."
