India, Nov. 30 -- Boots are a go-to if you want footwear that's both sturdy and stylish. But pairing them with dresses can get tricky. Fashion influencer Lakshita Sehgal recently broke it down for her Instagram audience, dividing boots into two broad categories: simple and sleek versus suede and over-the-top. Sehgal warns against overly "fancy" designs that rely on embellishments, extra laces or unconventional colours. These, she says, can look bulky, childish and often only work with casual outfits. "Most 'trendy' black ankle boots with 50 laces and random embellishments look bulky, childish, and only work with casual outfits," she wrote. Instead, she champions the classics. "A sleek, simple heeled boot? Instantly elevated and goes with everything," her post adds. To make her point, Sehgal even created a presentation illustrating the difference. She recommends sticking to timeless shades, black, brown, beige and other neutral tones, as they pair effortlessly with a wide range of dresses. Material matters too. While boots are traditionally leather, many fast-fashion versions now use polyester or suede. Sehgal says suede styles are particularly avoidable, describing them as "socks pretending to be boots." Her verdict? Choose clean lines, classic colours and quality materials, and your boots will never fail you....
