India, Aug. 1 -- Taapsee Pannu has not followed the industry's conventional path. Instead, the actor designed her own journey and stayed true to it with her choice of roles: often unconventional and consistently strong in substance. Be it female-led stories or narratives that go against current trends, Taapsee has proven to be a bankable star.
On her birthday today, we spotlight five films that showcased her distinctive approach to cinema -Pink (2016), Naam Shabana (2017), Badla (2019), Thappad (2020), and Haseen Dillruba (2021).
With Haseen Dillruba, Taapsee became the first female Bollywood actor with her own OTT franchise. In Pink and Thappad, she became a voice for women's rights, while cementing her position as one of the select female actors to deliver at the box office. Stepping into a morally grey space in Badla, she held her ground opposite a stalwart like Amitabh Bachchan. And with Naam Shabana, she became the first to get a spin-off after the success of Baby (2015).
