India, Nov. 7 -- Goth is back, but this time, it's softer, less moody, and more chic. Called the soft goth makeup, this trend is all over Instagram, with over a million views on tutorials. Celebs are loving it, too. From actor Kareena Kapoor Khan's statement smokey eyes to actor Ariana Greenblatt's no-blush sculpted cheeks, stars are experimenting with the trend. This trend tones down the drama of classic goth makeup. If the full goth look is all-black everything and heavy liner, soft goth is its chill, fashion-forward cousin. It's more about smokey eyeshadow, neutral skin, and effortless yet statement lips. Pop culture has also played a huge role in its comeback. Actor Jenna Ortega's Wednesday Addams avatar has made dark eyes and pale lips feel cool again. Think intense stares underlined by a soft no-makeup look. Actor Mia Goth's outfits in the horror-sci-fi film Frankenstein also kept this vibe alive with her moody, otherworldly styles. Gothic elements like red crosses and muted outfits were coupled with matte skin, heavily shadowed eyes and greige lips. Fashion runways have also gone darker as models sport diffused smokey eyes, matte skin, and greige lippers. Makeup artist Yamini Grover explains that this soft goth style sits perfectly with contemporary aesthetics: "After years of glowing skin and glossy pink cheeks, people are ready for something different. There's a craving for depth, texture, and emotion in beauty again. This makeup trend hits that sweet spot."...
