n Wednesday, the victorious Indian women's cricket team, fresh from lifting the 2025 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup, sat down with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in Delhi.
And while the trophy and gold medals rightfully took centre stage, it was the candid, light-hearted moments that truly stole the show.
When the PM pointed to all-rounder Deepti Sharma and asked, "Aap tattoo lagake ghumti rehti hain, toh Hanuman ji aapki kya madad karte hain?", the room burst into laughter. Deepti smiled and replied, "I have more faith in Hanuman ji than in myself. Whenever I face difficulties, taking his name helps me a lot."
The PM then pointed out the "Jai Shri Ram" in her Instagram bio and playfully asked how much "dadagiri" (assertiveness) she shows on the field, prompting another round of chuckles from the players.
Batter Harleen Deol then lightened the mood even further by cheekily asking about the PM's glowing skin: "Sir, your skin is always glowing. Can you please tell me what is your skincare routine?" Modi laughed before replying, "It's the blessings of the people that keep me glowing."
During the evening, the PM also noticed injured player Pratika Rawal, seated in a wheelchair. He walked over and asked, "Aapko koi kuch de nahi raha, kya pasand hai aapko?" before personally serving her from the buffet....
