Salman is a gunda: Dabangg director AbhinavKashyapreignitesfeud
India, Sept. 9 -- Ahead of the 15th anniversary celebrations of Salman Khan-starrer Dabangg (2010), the film's director Abhinav Kashyap launched a fresh attack on the actor and his family.
"Salman is never involved. He has not been interested in acting for the last 25 years. He does a favour by turning up to work. He is more into the power of being a celebrity, but he is not interested in acting. He is a gunda. Salman badtameez hai, ganda insaan hai," Abhinav told Screen.
The 51-year-old filmmaker further accused the Khan family of fostering a "star system" in Bollywood, calling Salman (59) "the father" of it. "He is from a film family which has been in the industry since 50 years... They are vindictive people. They control the whole process. If you don't agree with them, they come after you."
Abhinav had a public fallout with the Khans after he did not direct Dabangg 2 (2012), and claimed that the family sabotaged his career over his refusal. He linked this to his brother, writer-filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's experience during Tere Naam (2003). "(Anurag) told me before Dabangg that you won't be able to make a film with Salman. He just thought I'll get easily bullied, he knows these vultures," he shared.
Though Salman has never publicly addressed Abhinav's allegations on him or his family, he indirectly denied claims of ruining careers. He said on the reality TV show that he hosts: "Kaunsa career khaaya maine? Agar khao na, toh main apna khud ka career khaa jaunga! Kabhi kabhi main complacent ho jaata hoon... Phir wapas apne grip mein laane ki koshish karta hun." htc...
