Salman deletes tweet on 'ceasefire' after backlash
India, May 12 -- Actor Salman Khan took to X on Saturday night, sharing his relief over the ceasefire between India and Pakistan. However, he deleted it moments later, after facing severe backlash for not reacting to Operation Sindoor.
Soon after Salman shared [the now-deleted] post, which read, "Thank God for the ceasefire....", many social media users criticised him. One wrote, "No tweets about Operation Sindoor. Why?" Another tweet read, "You didn't say anything about India's Operation Sindoor against Pakistan."
However, the actor also had his share of supporters. "Just after his tweet, the news came that Pakistan violated the ceasefire. So he deleted that tweet. Now tell me what is Salman Khan's mistake here? (sic)" wrote a fan, referring to the ceasefire violation by Pakistan on Saturday night.
While Salman did not issue a statement addressing the criticism or explaining the deletion of his tweet till the time of going to press, many Bollywood celebrities took to social media to welcome the ceasefire. While Kareena Kapoor Khan shared an Instagram post, "Rab rakha" and "Jai Hind", filmmaker Karan Johar responded with folded hands and orange heart emojis. htc...
