Rajat Kapoor: There's no arc of my character in Drishyam franchise

ctor Rajat Kapoor, who plays the husband of tough cop Meera Deshmukh (Tabu) in the Drishyam franchise, says he doesn't see a defined graph or emotional arc for his character across the two films. While the franchise has become one of Bollywood's biggest suspense thrillers, Kapoor feels his role is more functional than layered. "There's no real emotional journey written for my character," he told Screen, adding, "He's there to support Tabu's character and the narrative, but there isn't an arc in the traditional sense." However, he added that the strength of the script and the ensemble chemistry make the films special. Kapoor also said he values being part of a franchise that continues to engage audiences so strongly. "Not every role has to be transformative. Sometimes you contribute to the world of the film, and that's enough."
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Akshaye, who joined the franchise in the second instalment, has opted out of the third film over fee and styling disagreements. Producer Kumar Mangat Pathak told us that even after agreeing to Akshaye's quoted fee, the actor allegedly walked out of the project without giving a reason. htc...
