India, Jan. 12 -- Actor Parvathy Thiruvothu recently spoke candidly about traumatic experiences from her childhood, recalling instances of harassment by male strangers. Speaking on The Male Feminist podcast by Hauterrfly, where female celebrities discuss their lives and societal pressures, the 37-year-old described a particularly horrific incident in which a stranger struck her on the chest as a child, after being asked if she had received any sex education. She shared, "I have had bad experiences in my childhood. Dad ke saath chal rahi thhi, tab koi chest pe maar ke chala gaya. It was not even like touching, it was like thap! I was a child at that time. I remember being in pain." Speaking more broadly about how such experiences begin early in life, Parvathy added, "We are born, and then we are assaulted. Auto mein ghus rahe ho, pinch kar diya." Parvathy also spoke about being flashed at repeatedly while growing up. "The number of times I have turned around and seen a guy with his mundu up, showing his thing. I had no idea what was happening at that time. It is only much later that you go back and realise how deeply these experiences have impacted our bodies," she said. Reflecting on the lasting effect of such incidents, she added, "My mom used to teach me how to walk on the streets, and to look at men's hands. Imagine a situation where a mother has to teach this to her child." HTC...
