Pack like a pro: Five tips to help compact your bag
India, June 25 -- We've all found ourselves sitting atop an overstuffed bag, hoping that the contents will fit and the zip holds until the check-in counter. For most, travelling light might feel impossible. But once you crack the code, there's less to carry, no excess baggage fees and way more freedom once you touch down.
Goa-based marketing professional and travel influencer Kevin Pinto (@wander_with_kevin) shares some easy hacks for travelling stress-free.
Kevin's trick to packing smart is being intentional with what you carry. Knowing exactly what you'll wear each day keeps your bag lean and your mornings calm.
"Rolling clothes saves a lot of space," Kevin says. He also suggests bundling entire outfits - think t-shirts, boxers, and socks together in one roll - to keep from rummaging through the bag each morning.
Downsizing toiletries is an instant space saver and spares your outfits from surprise leaks. The influencer recommends tiny refillable containers for essentials or switching to shampoo bars, soap sheets and roll-on perfume, which can also save on liquid weight.
Make every inch of your bag work for you. Kevin's trick is simple: "I stuff socks, undergarments or even a rolled belt inside each shoe. Not only does it use dead space, but it also helps the shoe hold its shape."
Keep the bulkiest stuff on you (think jeans, sneakers and jackets) to instantly lighten your bag. If you have a jacket, Kevin suggests stuffing your pockets with accessories and smaller items, or using a waist bag.
As the influencer puts it, "Packing light isn't about restriction but about clarity. When your bag's lighter, you move faster and worry less. It teaches you to value moments over materials - that's what travel is about."...
