Orthopedic experts convene in Delhi to advance hip arthroplasty DAA technique
India, Dec. 14 -- Bringing together leading orthopaedic surgeons to discuss advancements in hip arthroplasty, Dr Kyle Von Mc Givern from Oklahoma, USA, joined Dr Ramneek Mahajan of Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital, Delhi, at a meeting recently held in the Capital. The session focused on an in-depth exchange of knowledge and emerging innovations in hip arthroplasty techniques.
Particular emphasis was placed on the Direct Anterior Approach (DAA), a minimally invasive technique increasingly favoured for its ability to reduce muscle trauma and promote faster postoperative rehabilitation.
The surgeons also discussed implants incorporating Vitamin E acetabular liners. Known for their antioxidant properties, these liners help prevent oxidative wear, thereby improving implant durability and long-term structural stability. The discussion created an opportunity to explore various surgical approaches and share insights on managing complex hip cases.
Dr Kyle Von Mc Givern said, "The Direct Anterior Approach (DAA) in hip arthroplasty represents a transformative technique that I use predominantly. The anterior approach minimises muscle disruption, lowers dislocation rates while preserving natural joint stability, and accelerates recovery."
The interaction further explored technical enhancements, case-based analyses and evolving global trends aimed at elevating standards in hip arthroplasty.
Dr Ramneek Mahajan, Chairman, Orthopaedics and Chief Robotic Joint Replacement Surgeon, expressed appreciation for the discussions, noting that such professional exchanges contribute meaningfully to sustained patient benefits.
The collaboration sets a platform for shared insights and strengthens cooperation between orthopaedic communities in India and the United States, with the broader goal of advancing surgical techniques and improving patient access and outcomes worldwide. htc...
