Not right for me to put other women down to feel superior: Uorfi
India, July 12 -- U
orfi Javed recently shared screenshots of the online abuse she's been receiving since her win on a reality show. Ask her how it affects her, and she responds candidly: "You just have to cry for two days, and on the third day, you have to say 'f*** it'. You can't do anything about it. You will get affected, and you have to accept that not everyone is going to like you."
Often credited with starting the trend of being a 'pap-made star' - a path many young women are now following - Uorfi, however, doesn't claim ownership. "I haven't started anything as such. If I say I have, people will abuse me and blame me for everything. And if I hadn't done it, someone else would have. The pap culture was just starting when I came in. I just got on with it at the right time and made the most of it," she says.
What about those who misuse that spotlight? Does it bother her? "It's not right for me to put other women down to feel superior. I'm not in any position to call out anyone or say what they're doing is wrong. The world is there to judge-I'm no one to judge them," she replies.
During her time on The Traitors, Uorfi openly expressed her feelings for comedian Harsh Gujral. Ask her about it, and she says, "He's my friend. I think I've fallen a little in love with him. What others say, I don't care."
She adds with a laugh, "We would chill together and have fun. Hanging out with Harsh was always a relief - he'd make everyone laugh. Raj (Kundra) had even started a joke that 'we should get Harsh married here', and I had joined in saying, 'chalo, main bhi line mein lag jaati hoon'."...
