Mohit Chauhan releases new song dedicated to street dogs
India, Dec. 30 -- Musician Mohit Chauhan's latest track, Meri Aawaaz, arrives at a time when conversations around street dogs, particularly in Delhi, have become sharply divided, following recent court rulings on the sterilisation, feeding and relocation of community animals.

Chauhan says the intention was never to intensify the debate: "The conversations were becoming very angry. I wanted to move it away from that and bring it back to compassion."
The cause, however, isn't new to him. "We've been working with stray animals for a long time now, around six or seven years. We take care of about 300 to 400 stray animals. "When this whole debate started heating up, I was already playing with a melody in my head. Then (my wife) Prarthana came up with the lyrics, and that's how the song happened," the 59-year-old shares.
At its core, the track attempts to give voice to the beings who cannot speak. "They're voiceless beings, this song could become their voice," Chauhan says. The response, he adds, has been overwhelming, with listeners across geographies writing in to say the song moved them emotionally.
"If something comes from the heart, people listen. It's just about being kind. Live and let live. Without kindness, I don't think anyone can really go far," the musician signs off....
