India, March 25 -- Delhi is all set for a week-long celebration of world cinema as the maiden International Film Festival Delhi opens today at Bharat Mandapam. With the red carpet rolled out, the Capital is preparing to welcome some of the biggest names from Indian cinema for the inaugural evening. The opening night will feature a gala screening of the Oscar-nominated Sirat (2025), while actors Arjun Kapoor and Nimrat Kaur are set to host the ceremony. Among those expected to attend are actors Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Satish Pednekkar, Hema Malini, Rana Daggubati, Divya Dutta, Anupam Kher, Sanya Malhotra and Siddhant Chaturvedi. Bhojpuri cinema faces Ravi Kishan and Manoj Tiwari, along with filmmakers Ramesh Sippy and Madhur Bhandarkar. The festival will showcase over 140 films from 47 countries, including features, documentaries, shorts, animation and restored classics. The line-up includes screenings, masterclasses, workshops, and panel discussions. A special Guru Dutt retrospective, including a restored 4K screening of his 1957 film Pyaasa, are among the highlights. htc...
