India, Nov. 21 -- M ichael Rosenberg, better known as Passenger, performed in India for the first time as he opened his three-city tour at Gurugram's CyberHub on Wednesday evening. The British singer-songwriter took the stage alone with his acoustic guitar, a format he has carried to some of the world's most recognisable venues, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado (USA), The Beacon Theatre in New York, and Royal Albert Hall, London (UK). For the Indian audience, the highlight was inevitable. Many had waited years to hear Let Her Go live, and when the familiar opening chords arrived, the crowd sang every line back to him, phone lights flooding the space. As the song reached its final section, Rosenberg grinned and urged, "Come on, Delhi", drawing an even louder chorus before closing the track. Across the hour-long set, he moved between older favourites and staples from his touring years, performing Fairytales & Firesides, All the Little Lights, Life's for the Living, Holes and others from his catalogue. The stripped-back format, a lone voice and guitar, remained the centrepiece, something he has leaned on consistently through recent tours across Europe, North America and Asia. The Gurugram show marked the first stop on his India run, which now moves to Mumbai on November 21 (today), followed by Bengaluru on November 22....
