Kindness in the Capital: Stranger helps vlogger find his iPhone
India, Jan. 27 -- Losing a phone is frustrating. Getting it back six months later feels almost unreal. Travel vlogger Krish Yadav recently shared a heartwarming story of how a stranger in Delhi helped him recover his stolen iPhone and changed his view of the city.
In a viral Instagram video, Yadav recalls buying his first iPhone in January, only to lose it in Delhi in August, just days before his birthday. "Tracking, tension, complaints. at last, I gave up hope," he says.
Two days ago, he received an unexpected call. A man named Sandeep, who runs a pizza stall in Karol Bagh, told him that an e-rickshaw driver had tried to sell him the phone. Instead of keeping it, Sandeep secured it and tracked Yadav through the 'Lost Mode' message on the screen. "Phone mere paas safe hai, aap jab bhi Delhi aao, mujhse le lena," he told him.
Yadav rushed to meet him and received the phone back with zero demands and no fuss. "I did whatever was possible from my side," Sandeep says in the video.
"I hate Delhi. but that day something changed," Yadav wrote, adding, "Not because Delhi changed. But because people like him exist here. Maybe I just hadn't met that Delhi yet."
Social media stans Dilwallon ki Dilli
The post drew several Delhiites to the comments section. One wrote, "Delhi toh dilwaon ki hai hi, but it's all about intention." Another commented, "Mera bhi phone Delhi Metro me chori hua tha aur do mahine baad Delhi police ne mujhe dhund ke waapis diya."
