India, July 21 -- American singer-songwriter Katy Perry had a close call during her San Francisco concert when a giant butterfly-shaped aerial prop she was seated on malfunctioned mid-performance, nearly causing her to fall. The incident occurred while she was performing Roar (2013), urging the crowd to sing along. In a viral video circulating on social media (see inset above), Katy is seen dangling mid-air on the giant prop when it suddenly drops, throwing her off balance. Despite the jolt, the 40-year-old can be seen holding on and continue sing without missing a beat. Earlier this month, Katy faced a similar almost-mishap when a metal sphere-shaped cage suspended on cables above the stage faced a malfunction during her show in Australia. had Katy climbed into the sphere, but as it was lifted into the air, it began to tilt to one side, causing the singer to hold on to the frame.
