Kajal Aggarwal to play Mandodari in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana?
India, May 18 -- Director Nitesh Tiwari's screen adaptation of Ramayana seems to have cast the role of Mandodari, the queen consort of Ravana.
If latest reports are to be believed, actor Kajal Aggarwal will take on this role opposite Yash. In fact, she has already started shooting for the magnum opus.
Previously, there were speculations that actor Sakshi Tanwar would play this character.
"The role of Mandodari in Ramayana is incredibly crucial. Therefore, it was imperative for the makers to cast a well-established leading actor who could fully embody the complexities and significance of Ravana's wife, opposite Yash," a source close to the production said.
"The makers sought an actor with a strong presence across languages. While many actresses were considered, including those from Bollywood, Kajal's celebrated name in both the North and the South made her the ideal choice," the insider told India Today.
Ramayana also stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita. Joining them in pivotal roles are Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, and Lara Dutta Bhupathi as Kaikeyi.
The film is set to release in two parts, with the first part scheduled for Diwali 2026 and the second part in 2027.htc...
