Jeethu Joseph halts early shoot of Hindi Drishyam 3,says legal action was considered

he much-anticipated third instalment of the Drishyam franchise is officially underway, but only in spirit for now. While Drishyam 3, starring Mohanlal and directed by Jeethu Joseph, has yet to go on floors, the filmmaker has confirmed that the Malayalam version will take precedence over its Hindi counterpart featuring Ajay Devgn.
In a recent interview with Mathrubhumi, Jeethu addressed speculation that the Hindi version was gearing up to begin production first. Clarifying the situation, he revealed that he had to firmly intervene to maintain the chronology of releases. "There were discussions about shooting both the Malayalam and Hindi versions simultaneously, but we haven't taken a final call on that. Initially, there were plans to begin the Hindi version first, but after a legal warning was hinted at, those plans were dropped," he said.
Jeethu also confirmed that he is still working on the screenplay, and that the Malayalam film will only go on floors in October this year. The Hindi adaptation is expected to begin production only after that.
Speaking at a recent event, the director shared an update on the writing process, saying, "I finished writing the climax of Drishyam 3 last night. I've been under immense pressure for a long time."
