India, July 4 -- Actor Milind Usha Soman completed a 600km journey from Mumbai to Goa on June 30 - cycling 90km and running 21km each day for five days. Documenting the feat on Instagram, he described the experience as "amazing". Speaking to us, he shares, "It was never a plan or challenge; it was a test for my mind and body." Known for his disciplined approach to health and fitness, Milind looks at such endurance efforts as "personal fitness checks. "It's something I do once or twice a year," he says, adding, "It could be for a few days, but I surely do something that is fun and full of new learnings." This was not his first time attempting such a venture. The 59-year-old recalls, "I tried my hand at something similar almost a decade ago. I was 50 and it was just cycling to Goa. So this time, I decided to take it further (with running). It looks like a physical challenge, but it is actually a mental one." Ask about the dos and don'ts of taking on such physically demanding routines and he keeps its simple: "I listen to my body and mind before taking up any new physical challenge. You should question yourself and [if your mind says otherwise], then it's time to change." For Milind, success lies not in competition but in completion and sustainability, be it a half marathon in Norway or trekking to Kedarnath (Uttarakhand). The actor and fitness enthusiast explains, "For me, my biggest achievement is not winning trophies - it's to not get any sports injury in life. Hence, I approach everything gradually. I have never slogged in the gym or hours. I do 10-15 minutes of different combinations of exercises, whatever my mind says."...
